A popular food and drink festival in Cornwall has announced its line up of musical acts set to perform at this year's event.

The St Ives Food and Drink Festival - which is free to attend - will be returning to Porthminster beach on May 13 to 15 and will be bringing with it a diverse selection of musical acts to accompany its culinary offerings.

Headlining the Friday night opening party will be Malavita! who organisers say will be serving cocktail of funky latin beats, irresistible drum grooves and soulful female vocals.

They'll be supported by the energetic Pattern Pusher, a funk-soul band from the South West.

The multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Maisy Grace will be warming up on Friday, having already started making waves across the South West and beyond.

Saturday night headliners Town of Cats are an ever-mutating municipality of self-proclaimed musical misfits, bring with them their word play, funky rhythms and brass tempos.

Stampeding on next, you’ll find Pyschadelephant, an intoxicating and explosive funk-fuelled four piece who play a mixture of vibrant covers and jaunty originals.

The New Twentys join the stage too, heavily inspired by the classic UK punk and new wave bands that came before them.

On Sunday, the raucous 3 Daft Monkeys will close the festival with one of their famously theatrical live performances and will be supported by Sam Richardson and The Renegades and local favourite Bailey Tomkinson.

Previous events have seen thousands of visitors flock to St Ives for the annual food festival and organisers have said they'll soon be making another announcement regarding the full line-up of chefs who will be making the trip to Cornwall this year.

St Ives Food and Drink Festival is free to attend during the day but music events are ticketed.

Early Bird Tickets for the music programme are priced at £8.
