A Cornish charity has thanked members at Falmouth Golf Club who raised over seven thousand pounds for them on their charity day.
Falmouth Golf Club Captain Gary Wall had made it clear he wanted the club to support a local charity that supports the community.
The club elected to support Cornwall Refuge Trust in 2021, a charity that provides accommodation for women, men and children who have escaped domestic abuse.
Following the golf club's combined Captain's Charity Day which raised £1801, they also received match funding from Santander Bank in Falmouth thanks to Joanne VanReijn with the final figure amounting to £7,694.
Club Captain Gary Wall thanked all club members for their generous donations and gave a special mention to the ladies and seniors section of Falmouth Golf Club, for their hard work in supporting the charity.
The Cornish Charity appreciated the donations from the Golf Club, they said: "Cornwall Refuge Trust is so grateful for the amazing donation raised by Falmouth Golf Club.
"The monies raised will go towards helping victims of domestic abuse. We really appreciate Falmouth Golf Club’s support."
