A religious-themed rock n' roll group will be performing at a venue in Cornwall this year after the release of their new EP.

OH MY GOD! IT’S THE CHURCH will be bringing their unique music/comedy blend of soul-saving rock, funk and... soul, to the Old Bakery Studio in Truro on May 6.

The band will be releasing their second EP, ‘Revelations’ on Good Friday, April 15, which the band describe as their own soundtrack to the End of Days.

According to the band, the ‘Revelations’ EP is a place where music is the religion in a world careering into self-destruction, but all anybody wants to do is sell you an upgrade.

Salvation, it seems, comes in the form of a tall stranger in a cowboy hat and his merry band of misfits, and their soundtrack to our impending annihilation.

The celestial all-singing, all-dancing act consists of the Hail Marys choir and their band The Missionary Position, but the undisputed leader of this new religion is the Right Reverend Michael Alabama Jackson, who said: "People get so gloomy about the end of the world... ‘the end is nigh’,’repent your sins’, ‘this ain't a nuclear bunker it's my garden shed, who are you and get out!

"But when the apocalypse arrives, I wanna strap on my leather pants, break out my fire-breathing organ and save my dirty soul with some good ol’ fashioned rock n’roll."
