Speaking after the game Massey was overjoyed to have finished the game with five members of Helston's youth academy who famously made it to the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup in the 2018-19 season. He said: "There were lots of positives. It was nice to find the back of the net and score six, we kept a clean sheet but for me to be able to finish the game for the last half hour we had five of our previously very successful under 18s team on the pitch.

"Joshua Storey, Harrison Jewell, Sam Buckley, Tom Hands and Jackson Penhallurick. Jackson scored, Joshy scored, Sam scored and Tom Hands had a super assist and Harrison could quite easily have been the man of the match he didn't put a foot wrong.

"I was really proud, I know Martyn Daughtery, Manager of the under 18s team who had the successful run to the first round FA Youth Cup was pleased.

"It gave me a huge amount of pleasure, to see them performing, looking really well and holding their own in there. The fact that Jackson gets a goal and particularly Sam too. Both have been exemplary this season, they have been a managers dream and when they have come on they have done well.

"When they have been in the dressing room or in training they have been spot on I can't speak highly enough of them, and they were well worth it.

"It wasn't a case of just bringing numbers along to fill the squad, they are there because of their ability, they have earned the right to be in a step five football team squad so I was really pleased for them."

Despite the win, Massey claimed he was 'frustrated' throughout the performance with the weather not making life easy for both sides: "It was frustrating, we were always going to win the game." The manager begun. "The conditions were awful. It was as poor conditions that we have played in this year and that affected how we wanted to play. It was just a success if you could stay on your feet, that was an achievement!

"Get us on a 3G surface or a dry surface and the scoreline would have been even bigger but you still only get three points if you win 1-0 or 11-0. I stressed that in the dressing room that it was just the three points, and if we started taking our foot off the pedal or doing things we don't normally do we could make it very difficult for ourselves."

Helston are away to 16th placed Cadbury Heath in their next match on Saturday, February 19.
