A HOTEL guest has been sent for trial at Truro Crown Court after pleading not guilty to failing to pay a bill of nearly £3,000.
Benjamin James-Dyer, 27, of Alderwood Parc, Penryn, pleaded not guilty to fraud by false representation at Truro Magistrates Court this week. A charge of making off without payment was withdrawn.
The charge alleges that between November 19, 2020 and December 16, 2020 at Falmouth he committed fraud in that he dishonestly made a false representation, namely informed staff at the Lerryn Hotel in Falmouth that he would pay for his stay at the hotel, intending to make a gain, namely that he would be able to avoid paying the sum of £2,599.00 for his stay at that hotel, for himself.
