It will be deja-vu for Helston Athletic this weekend as they face Clevedon Town for the second week in a row.

The sides played out a 1-1 draw last weekend at Kellaway Park after Craig Veal's early penalty was cancelled out in the second half by a superb volley from Mitch Osmond, who broke his wrist in the process of scoring.

Speaking to the Packet since that clash Helston Athletic Manager Steve Massey said: "We thought we defended really well, they are a decent team on the up and they will take points off other teams. I think that is about eight unbeaten for them now.

"It'll be a tough game back up there, being at home I expect there will be one or two players that didn't travel but being at home they will be able to call on them. I guess whatever team they turned out on Saturday against us will be strengthened for their home fixture."

As the season finale edges closer it proves a vital time for Helston Athletic if they are to keep up their top-four ambitions. Athletic are currently fifth in the table and trail fourth-placed Bridgwater United, who they play next week, by four points.

There is no room for error either with just three points separating fifth from 11th in the league table with four sides including Helston on 44 points.

Fortunately, for the Blues Massey revealed he has near full-strength squad to pick from heading into this weekend's match: "We have got good numbers, in fact at this moment in time I have 18, I may have to see who is fully fit.

"Ryan Beattie missed Clevedon because of a turned ankle against Mousehole so he was rested.

"If we were desperately short of players he could have got through but there was no need for it as we had plenty of cover. He had a rest, just to ease him back in, but otherwise, everybody is available."

It is the first of three away games in a row for Helston as they take on Bridgwater United the week after followed by Tavistock AFC in the Les Phillips Cup on Tuesday, March, 15.
