Marie Curie are creating a Wall of Reflection in a Helston cafe to help people in the town and the surrounding area grieve, connect and remember.

The end of life charity is inviting people in Helston and surrounding areas to honour and remember loved ones who died during the pandemic by adding their names to a special Wall of Reflection as part of the National Day of Reflection.

On March 23 there will be a wall of reflection at The Coffee Hut in Helston. People can drop off pictures/memories/names of people they would like to remember from Thursday, March 16 and these will then all be added to the wall.

On the day itself, Marie Curie and the Coffee Hut are inviting the local community and its employees to gather at the Wall of Reflection from 11am to 11.30am and observe the minute’s silence at 12 noon.

Led by end-of-life charity Marie Curie, Wall of Reflection is one of a UK-wide series of tributes being created to mark the National Day of Reflection on March 23 – a day to reflect on the lives of the people who have died during the last two years and support the millions of people who are grieving. Whether from Covid or any other cause.

Kathryn Bowman Clinical Nurse Manager said: "While life is beginning to return to normal for some people, several million people are still living with the trauma of loss and not being able to grieve properly. Let’s make the legacy of the pandemic years one of compassion, love and active support for those grieve, both now and in years to come.
