It is a historic day for Cornwall's new rugby league side Cornwall RLFC as the outfit are set to play their first match since forming in November 2021.

The team are playing in Betfred League One, and are on their travels for their maiden match heading to Wales to take on North Wales Crusaders at the Eirias Stadium with kick-off at 5:30 pm.

Since its establishment, the side has made a commitment to bring local players into the squad as well as some experienced faces.

A trial hosted earlier this year provided a great opportunity for a number of players to sign for the Penryn based side.

The first signing of the season Anthony Mulally shows the level of intent that the side has, the prop has previously won the Super League grand final with Leeds Rhinos in 2017.

Boss Neil Kelly has selected his squad for their opening fixture with just one absentee Josh Tora not fit to make the side due to a hamstring injury. Recent recruits Chris Chard and Matty Turton are included.

Viewers are able to watch the game by downloading the Rugby Football League's #OurLeague app which is available on both Apple and Android devices.

RFLC play their first home match on Sunday, April 10 at Penryn RFC when they take on Hurricanes. Kick-off for the historic match is at 1:00 pm and tickets for the inaugural match can be purchased here.
