The family of a missing boy who went out yesterday and did not return home has thanked everyone who helped in their appeal for people to help find him.

Daniel Evans, aged 12, had not returned to his home in Helston after going out with a friend on Sunday.

Sal Evans said Daniel, known as Dan, was usually home by 8.30pm but had not returned.

However, in a recent update, Sal shared the good news that police had been found after a tip-off from the public.

She said: "POLICE HAVE FOUND HIM!!! Thank you everyone for sharing and to the couple that contacted police with details.

"Thank you all."

It had been thought Dan might have been seen in the Pool area, near Redruth, this morning (Monday).

Sal put out an appeal on Facebook for people to keep an eye out and report any sightings of the 12-year-old, who attends Mullion School.
