Falmouth Town could wrap up the South West Peninsula League title when they face local rivals Penryn Athletic tomorrow.

The match at Penryn's Kernick Road will be the third time the sides have met this season with Falmouth winning on both previous occasions in the league and in the Walter C Parson Cup.

At least a draw would provide Andrew Westgarth's side with a first league title since the 1999/2000 season.

Penryn have had a turbulent second half to the season following the departure of Manager Harry Pope. But their strong opening in first season in the South West Peninsula League which saw them at times as high as fifth has secured them a place in the division for next season.

The match is the first of two games in a matter of days for Falmouth as they will go on to face Wendron United in the final of the Cornwall Senior Cup on Monday, April 18.

Speaking after their 4-0 victory over St Dennis Falmouth Manager Andrew Westgarth is not underestimating the value of the Easter weekend fixtures. He said: "Moments like this don't come round very often.

"The chance to win the league title at your rivals, which probably has never been done before because over the years they have been in different leagues. Then obviously the Senior Cup Final so it is really one to savour without a doubt."

Kick off in the hotly anticipated derby is at 11am at Kernick Road, fans are advised to arrive early to avoid congestion getting into the ground.
