Penryn Athletic FC have announced Micky Hunt as their new first-team manager.

The side, who are in the South West Peninsula League for the first time this season, have been without a gaffer since Harry Pope departed with immediate effect on January 25 2022.

Since then the side has been managed by a selection of the senior players in the squad including Captain Russell May, Nick Boase and Jake Shaw with Dan Lord assisting from the touchline.

During the managerless period, the Kernick Road side slipped down the table from tenth to 13th and most recently lost 3-2 to Falmouth Town as the visitors went on to win the title.

It was their third loss in a row after defeats at Liskeard and St Austell in recent matches.

Penryn are in action away to Wadebridge Town in their next match on Wednesday, April 20.
