There was plenty of live music and cyder at Healeys Cyder Farm this weekend.

Rattler Fest, which is held at the farm in Penhallow, Truro, provided guests with live music, food, entertainment and of course a lot of Rattler.

It is the second year they have held this event, and this year they decided to go all out. There was music from Utah Saints, The Feeling, Dub Pistols, Sam and the Womp, Company B and many more. Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills took to the main Rattler stage on Saturday night to do his set.

Sam and the Womp, who rose to fame with their number one single 'Bom Bom' back in 2012, took to the stage on Saturday night and Sam Richie, who plays the trumpet alongside vocalist Bloem De Lingy, said: “It’s fantastic that festivals have returned after Covid, and it’s insane to see everyone in the crowd.”

Sam told the Packet, that he came to Cornwall eight years ago, and said: “I love the beaches and seeing the waves.”

This year is the ten-year-anniversary of ‘Bom Bom’ and now the band have more exciting projects coming up, with Sam adding: “Keep an eye on our social media pages, watch this space.”

Along with Sam and the Womp, British band The Feeling were also performing on the main stage. The band, who has had hits with their songs ‘Fill My Little World’, ‘Sewn’ and ‘Love it When You Call’ were said they were also happy to be back performing at festivals.

Dan Sells, lead vocalist of the Brit award nominated band, said he has been coming to Cornwall "for years" and they always aim to perform here when they can, adding: “We love coming to Cornwall, the people are always friendly, there’s big open spaces, and we love the beaches.”

The band were looking forward to performing at the event, and told the Packet, they will be “performing old songs and new songs” from their upcoming album, 'Loss, Hope, Love' which will be released in two weeks’ time.

Not only was there a main stage, but there were other live music events happening around the festival. An acoustic tent was set up away from the main stage, where acoustic band Jeanne and Gem were performing one of their own songs. Over at Club Fromage, a festival goer performed a very alternative version of Bob Marley’s ‘Don’t Worry About a Thing’ on a karaoke machine.

Apart from the music, there were other fun things going on at the festival, including a ‘Mr and Mrs Rattler’ competition, fairground rides, a silent disco and The Rattler Olympics.

“The atmosphere is amazing, everyone is in high spirits, especially after Covid, its amazing to be able to see everyone come together and celebrate with one another,” said one festival goer.

One of the UK’s first festivals to take place after Covid, it didn’t disappoint.
