The 2022/23 Cornwall Tourism Awards are now open for entry and businesses from across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are invited to submit their entries.

The Awards, now in their 21st year, cover both Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, offering businesses the chance to win not just locally, but to progress on to the regional South West awards and – for matching categories – the national VisitEngland awards.

The launch comes fresh from the conclusion of the 2021/22 awards, held in what was described as an extraordinary period for tourism, hospitality and the world.

Entrants listed the benefits of entering as increasing bookings, generating PR, free feedback and the boost they give to staff morale and recruitment.

The 2022/23 awards cover the full range of tourism-related businesses including pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as accommodation, wedding and business venues, attractions, events and experiences.

There is also an award for Innovation and Resilience, as well as opportunities to submit entries for unsung heroes, new businesses, dog friendly, accessibility, wildlife friendly and sustainability.

Awards organiser Robin Barker said: "It’s our 21st!

"Let’s have record entries and make this a year to remember!"

The awards are free to enter being supported by many sponsors and partners.

Deborah Heather, Director of headline sponsors Quality in Tourism, said: "Quality in Tourism are delighted to once again be Headline Sponsor for the Cornwall Tourism Awards in 2022/23.

"We continue to be inspired by the creativity and quality of the Cornish operators and the sheer resilience of our beloved industry; and we wish everyone well for the season ahead."

Malcolm Bell of Visit Cornwall added: "2021 was another crazy year with ups and downs and providers showed they were more than up to the challenges - no more so than the excellent businesses recognised through the Cornwall Tourism Awards."

A series of free online workshops is planned to help entrants, the first being on 12 May.

All entries must be submitted online by midnight on Sunday, June 19 but it is recommended that businesses plan ahead and start as soon as possible.

This deadline will not be extended.
