A hotel in Truro is inviting visitors to come along to a wine tasting event in which it promises to turn them into wine connoisseurs in no time.

The Alverton Hotel, a Grade II listed hotel which has stood on its hillside setting in Truro since 1830, is inviting guests to come along to a win-tasting event being held on Friday, May 20.

Organisers have said that the event will be taking place in the hotel's Great Hall and were guest wll be able to sample a selection of wines.

At the event, the hotel’s very own 'wine-maestro,' Yohann, will be pouring six glasses of wine for guests to sample throughout the evening.

During the evening, Yohann will also be discussing the different characteristics of each wine, with guests also able to ask any questions they may have, from pairing flavours to tips on how to read the wine labels.

And, if a six-course wine flight isn’t appealing enough, the hotel has also said there will also be sharing boards to compliment the wine and satisfy guest's tastebuds.

Organisers have also said that there will be free parking will be available in the hotel’s carpark.

Tickets are now on sale via Eventbrite for £30 plus booking fee.
