A MAN who damaged school property has appeared in front of magistrates in Cornwall.
Alexander Craig James, 24, Pengegon, Camborne appeared in front of magistrates at Truro Magistrates' Court on Tuesday April 26.
James had pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage to property valued under £5000 when he appeared in front of magistrates on Tuesday, April 26.
The offences took place on Monday, April 4 in Redruth when James destroyed a fence, shed window and lock to the value of £300 belonging to Treleigh Community Primary School.
During his sentencing, James was fined £200 and made to pay compensation of £300.
He was also made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 as well as pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court noted that his guilty plea was taken into account when imposing James' sentence.
In criminal damage cases where the value of the damage done is less than £5000, a maximum sentence of up to six months imprisonment can be enforced.
