A GALLERY in Cornwall has announced a series of events and exhibitions this month

The Tate St Ives will be hosting a range of exhibits and workshops this month, including a new exhibition from artist Ad Minoliti.

Kicking off on May 28 will be Ad Minoliti's latest exhibition: Biosfera Peluche / Biosphere Plush, in which the artist draws upon the legacy of geometric abstraction in Latin America and presents alternative universes influenced by feminist and queer thought.

The exhibition will also feature Minoliti’s ongoing project The Feminist School of Painting, transforming part of the gallery space into an active classroom.

Biosfera Peluche / Biosphere Plush will be exhibiting from May 28 until October 30 2022, with organisers stating that booking is recommended, although a few tickets might be available on the door.

Tickets cost £10.50 or free for members.

Also launching on May 28 will be an exhibition bringing together two artists connected with West Cornwall.

Scottish-born artist Wilhelmina Barns-Graham CBE (1912–2004) was based in St Ives for much of her life. The exhibition features paintings by Barns-Graham from throughout her career.

Jonathan Michael Ray’s practice incorporates photography, printmaking, found objects, stained glass and local stone.

Pricing for this event is yet to be confirmed but will be free for members.

The gallery will also be continuing its ongoing Modern Conversations series, which spotlights five key artists associated with the modern art networks of St Ives and West Cornwall.

The artists feature are: Alfred Wallis (1855–1942), Marlow Moss (1889–1958), Barbara Hepworth (1903–1975), Partou Zia (1958–2008) and Bob Law (1934–2004).

Shown in dialogue with works by other 20th and 21st century artists from Cornwall and around the globe, these displays of Tate collection works unravel the stories and legacies of modern art in St Ives and beyond.

Gallery admission will be required to attend the conversations and entry to both the display and the gallery is free for Tate Members, Locals' Pass holders and under 18s.
