A hotel in Truro has announced it will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a Great British Tea Party.
The Alverton Hotel, a Grade II listed hotel which has stood on its hillside setting in Truro since 1830, is inviting guests to drop by on Saturday, June 4 and raise a teacup for the Queen’s platinum Jubilee.
The hotel has said guests can expect to tuck into sweet treats, savoury bites and delicate sandwiches and cheers to a momentous reign with a complimentary jubilee cocktail in hand.
Guests that reserve their regal spot to the occasion will arrive to a jubilee cocktail and get to enjoy a selection of local musicians taking to The Alverton’s terrace stage, while diving into an afternoon tea that they say will be fit for a queen.
Devised by The Alverton’s pastry chef Lewis Tate, the menu will feature flavours ranging from sweet sponge custard and chocolate biscuit cake, renowned to be the Queen’s favourite, to smoked salmon and coronation chicken finger sandwiches.
Vegetarian options are also available.
Maisy Grace will kick off the afternoon’s entertainment, closely followed by Lostwithiel local, Rue.
The Alverton will be running their Great British Tea Party menu from Thursday, June 2 until Sunday, June 5.
Tickets will be £25 per person and are available from the hotel website.
