Homophobic graffiti "all over" the children's play area in Kimberley Park has been condemned by Falmouth's deputy mayor.

Cllr Kirsty Edwards said the graffiti had been discovered by her daughter and her friends while they were playing in the park and the town team were now removing it.

In a post on Facebook on Monday she said she was "disgusted" by the the words that had been written and urged people to report any anti-social behaviour to the police they saw anything.

"I’m not usually one to post negative things, but I am frankly disgusted at the “graffiti “ all over the children's play area at Kimberly park," she said. "My young daughter and her friends found it yesterday and today our team are removing it.

"This kind of behaviour absolutely will not be tolerated and I have also reported it to the police. If you have teenagers, I would really appreciate you speaking with them about how inappropriate and unkind this behaviour is.

"No one should be targeted in this way- there was much worse written that I refuse to publicise.
