Cornwall Air Ambulance FC are hosting their first ever charity match later today as they take on their Thames Valley Air Ambulance counterparts at Troon AFC’s Grouter Park.

The Cornwall Air Ambulance Team will feature a number of previously airlifted patients who might not have been able to take part in the match if it wasn’t for the charity.

Charity ambassador and chef Paul Ainsworth joining the team as well as the head chef of his Michelin star restaurant in Padstow John Walton signing for the side.

Gates open at midday for the match which kicks off at 1:15pm.

The purpose of the match is to raise money and awareness for both charities, if you cannot make the fixture but still want to donate you can do so via the JustGiving page on the Cornwall Air Ambulance website.

Car parking tickets for the event are £5, although these are limited availability so any attendees are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. People travelling by foot are not required to pay, but there will be donation buckets scattered about the venue for those who are willing to give money.

As well as family fun throughout the afternoon there will also be a pre match penalty shootout challenge to test your nerves from the 12 yard spot.
