A property in Redruth proved to be in high demand at auction recently as the detached building found itself on the market for the first time in a quarter of a century.

The detached commercial property in Redruth sold for £617,000 after making its first market appearance in 25 years.

The freehold of Trecarrel, in Drump Road, had a guide price of £500,000 to £600,00.

Trecarrel has a mixture of accommodation over two floors which include open-plan spaces, a workshop, cellular offices, meeting rooms, stores and staff amenities as well as ample off-road parking.

Senior auction appraiser Dave Henwood said: “This was a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial commercial investment property on the edge of Redruth town centre.

“It was the first time the property has come to market in 25 years and proved to be in demand at auction as a high value letting investment.”

The building is let to a number of well-established tenants, delivering a return of £73,500 per year. It was auctioned jointly with RG Commercial of Redruth.

Clive Emson Auctioneers holds auctions eight times a year. Their next auction is on Thursday, July 28.

Lot entries close on Tuesday, July 5, with the online catalogue released on Saturday, July 9.
