TWENTY new members of staff have now been taken on at the Princess Pavilion in the latest update given to the town council.
Finance officer Ruth Thomas told a meeting of Falmouth Town Council's finance and general purpose committee last Monday that lots of things have happened since it had been taken on.
"We now have 20 new members of staff up there," she said. "We have done some good work of transferring across the staff to the town council. Operations are continuing up there very well but it's still very much a new venture. It is still very much an entity working wise and understanding how it works but it is going in the right direction."
Committee chair Cllr Jude Robinson said it was going well at the pavilion and the costs and the income are meeting. She said a business plan was being prepared for the working party to have a look at.
Steve Eva said as businesses go it was going really well. He said a lot of businesses lose money in their first three years.
"While we have taken on 20 new staff, most of them we were paying anyway from another scheme, so it's not, just in case people think we have suddenly have 20 more staff we have to pay for, that's not right," he said.
"I go up there twice a week to have a look and people are always saying to me that it is absolutely great that we saved this place."

Cllr Robinson say the pavilion does need more publicity and branding but it was really positive.
Cllr John Spargo said it was pertinent to point out that only a small number of full timers out of the 20 were on the payroll.
