UPDATE: The road has now reopened.
One of the main roads in Falmouth has been temporarily closed this lunchtime due a fuel spillage.
Cornwall Council has issued a travel alert warning that Cormac has had to close the A39 from Ponsharden Roundabout to Hillhead Roundabout in Falmouth.
This is due to a fuel spillage.
The council said: "Please avoid the area if possible for the time being."
Traffic monitoring system INRIX is reporting that it is diesel involved.
Live maps show traffic is looking heavy in all directions on the adjoining roads, with the road closure causing heavy congestion.
