Police have appealed for witnesses following collision near Truro which left a motorcyclist seriously injured.

Officers were called to the accident on the A3075 at Penhallow at around 11.05am on Wednesday.

The collision, involving a car and a motorbike, closed the road for a number of hours while officers from the Roads Policing Team carried out an investigation.

The motorcyclist was taken to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries.

Devon and Cornwall Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or may have dashcam footage to come forward.

In a statement the police said: "Police investigating a road traffic collision on the A3075, at Penhallow, Cornwall, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike at around 11.05am, on Wednesday 22 June.

"One person, the male motorcyclist, was taken to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

"The road was closed while officers from the Roads Policing Team conducted an examination of the scene.

"The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information or dashcam footage which may have captured either vehicle prior to the collision that could help the police with their enquiries.
