POLICE in Devon and Cornwall have put out an appeal to the public to help them identify two men in connection with an assault earlier this week.
A male victim in his twenties has suffered serious injuries after an assault that took place outside a takeaway in Newquay in the early hours of Wednesday, May 22.
The victim is said to have been punched in the face and knocked to the floor before being kicked a number of times, sustaining head and facial injuries, and was later taken to hospital.
Police are now asking the public to help identify the two men in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two men in connection with a serious assault in Newquay.
"A man sustained serious injuries after being assaulted outside a takeaway in Central Square in the early hours of 22 May.
"The victim, a man in his 20s, was punched in the face and knocked to the floor before being kicked a number of times.
"He sustained head and facial injuries and was taken to hospital.
"Police are appealing for information and would like to identify the two men pictured in connection with the incident.
