HELSTON Community Hospital has received new outside seating for patients to sit in the hospital garden and enjoy a cup of tea - when the sun makes an appearance.
The link tables, parasols, and benches cost £1,500 and were provided by the hospital's League of Friends, for its sensory garden.
The sensory garden at the hospital is a place for patients to sit in the summer and enjoy the weather. And now as Covid restrictions have lifted family and friends are also able visit to sit outside with their loved ones.
Trevena Cross Nursery in Breage, obtained the seating at a discounted price, and also provided delivery and put them up.
Throughout the years, the League of Friends has supplied the hospital with other vital equipment for the staff, and better facilities for the patients and visitors.
During the pandemic, the hospital received items including 20 chairs for the reception, a patient flat lift kit, an illuminated magnifying glass trolley, two hoists, a Minor Injuries Unit crash trolley, and maintenance of the aquarium in outpatients and presents for the patients at Christmas and Easter Eggs at Easter.
It is hoped a coffee morning at Anne Russell's house in Porthleven will raise further funds for the League of Friends.
The League of Friends will also be arranging some fundraising events, having been largely prevented from doing so over the past couple of years due to the Covid pandemic.
