Fixtures have been released for the upcoming 2022/23 Western League season.

This year, following Town's promotion from the South West Peninsula League, Falmouth and Helston Athletic will both play in the division, which is step five of the non-league pyramid.

And fans of both sides won't have long to wait until derby day comes, with the first head-to-head between the sides taking place on Tuesday, August 23 with kick off at 7:45pm at Helston's Kellaway Park.

The two will meet again just two weeks later, again with an evening fixture as Town will host Athletic at Bickland Park on Friday, September 7. Kick off at 7:45pm.

As previously reported both sides are at home on the opening day of the season. For Helston the season will start as last one ended as they take on Bridgwater, meanwhile Falmouth's first Western League campaign since the 1982/83 campaign will see them host Wellington who finished 14th in the league last season.

The Boxing Day fixtures are always a key date in the diary to look out for when fixtures are released.

This year Helston Athletic will travel to Mousehole for the festive tie. The same tie was postponed last year following an outbreak of Covid in the Mousehole playing squad.

Kick off in that match is scheduled for 3pm. Helston's first game of 2023 will be at home to Shepton Mallet on January, 2.

Falmouth Town's Boxing Day fixture sees them away at Saltash United. Kick off at the Kimberley Stadium is at 3pm.

Falmouth's first game of the new year will be at home to Bridgwater United on Saturday, January 2.

Another key date, Good Friday will see the return fixture of the Boxing Day clashes as Falmouth will host Saltash at Bickland Park while Helston will play Mousehole at Kellaway Park.

Kick off for both matches at this time is scheduled for 3pm.

Falmouth's last home game will be their penultimate league match as they play Bitton on Saturday, April 15, their final game of the season will be away to Sherborne Town on Saturday, April 23.

Helston's last home match ties in with their final game of the campaign as they take on Keynsham Town on Saturday, April 23.
