West Cornwall is to be visited by royalty next week.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall – Prince Charles and his wife Camilla – will be visiting Mousehole on next Monday morning.
Penzance Town Council announced the news this evening, with a statement from mayor Jonathan How, who said: "We are very pleased to welcome Their Royal Highnesses to Mousehole and we hope that lots of local people will join us on the day to greet them."
During their visit, the royal couple will meet local people and community groups that use the Solomon Browne Hall.
In 2019 The Duke of Cornwall’s Benevolent Fund made a donation in support of this important community asset, and the Duke and Duchess will be able to hear more about how that money was spent, and the benefit it has had.
Those meeting the couple will include volunteers from the hall and members of the Mousehole Archive Group, as well members of Cornwall Hugs Grenfell, a group set up in the aftermath of the fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017. Since then it has provided nearly 500 respite holidays for Grenfell survivors, bereaved families, neighbours and firefighters.
