"Volunteers are needed to help in shifts, distributing refreshments to ambulance crews and patients waiting outside of Treliske’s A&E department from Saturday 16 to Tuesday 19 in the morning and afternoon.

"Each of the days will be divided up into shifts where two volunteers will be needed at a time.

"If volunteers could indicate availability for the morning or afternoon of the following days that will help us to schedule appropriately:

  • Saturday, 16th July
  • Sunday, 17th July
  • Monday, 18th July
  • Tuesday, 19th July

"Travel expenses are reimbursed at 45p per mile and parking costs will also be covered by the South West Ambulance Service Trust.

"Volunteers will report to the Hospital Ambulance Liaison Officer each day and all necessary supplies and training will be provided on the day.

"If you would like to help, please email to opportunities@volunteercornwall.org.uk to indicate your availability for any of these days, indicating morning or afternoon.

"Please do also provide us with a phone or mobile number if possible so we can get in touch.

"We will need to share this number with SWAST as appropriate so they can notify you should there be any last minute changes to the plan."
