Two staff members of St Keverne Pre-school have said goodbye to families, friends and children past and present as they both leave after a combined 32 years in their roles.

Claire Smitheram and Andrea Mitchell will both be embarking on new pastures, but said they have both made great memories of the time they have been in their roles.

Claire has worked at the pre-school for 19 years, but Friday saw her leaving as manager.

Also leaving the same day was Andrea, who has worked there for 13 years as an assistant.

Claire joined the nursery when her children were aged two and four, after the previous play leader left.

She said: "I was not intending to be there for very long! I have seen many changes in early years education and expectations during my time.

"I have seen us through quite a few Ofsted inspections, the most recent being in March where we kept our 'good' judgement."

Andrea joined the team 13 years ago, and Claire said: "We have enjoyed working alongside each other and always manage to have a good laugh along the way."

Although they will both miss the children, they have both decided the time is right to step away, and send their best wishes to the new manager for the future.

They also paid tribute to staff members from over the years, including Alice, Mandy, Tracy and Bethan, as well as current staff Steph and Kirsty.

"We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and made our time at pre-school an enjoyable place to be," they added.
