The Flambards fireworks are back this summer in Helston, taking place on two nights each week.

The August evening events programme will also feature live music and later opening times for rides on the days the fireworks will be held.

There will be fireworks every Monday and Wednesday evening during August, taking place as dusk falls.

Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy live performances from well known local acts including Stone Roots (August 3 and 24), Shameless (August 10), Rudi’s Message (August 17) and Qwest (August 8, 15, 22 and 29).

During the afternoon every Monday, 3pm to 6pm, from August 8, there will be a creepy crawly 'meet and greet', as well as a 30-minute bike stunt show on the four Wednesdays from August 3, at 4pm and 5pm.

Richard Welby, general manager, said: “Flambards has been a family favourite for more than 40 years because we believe in helping visitors make memories.

“We are really excited to support promising local musicians and with a fantastic fireworks finale to end the evening, we’re confident this summer will go with a bang.”

The extra entertainment will be in addition to the usual park rides, carousel and Ferdi's Funland with Dino-Nursery, along with the ever-popular Victorian Village featuring 50 recreated shops and scenes, and the Britain in the Blitz life-size street during World War Two, complete with air raid siren and the ground shaking as another bomb goes off.
