Former Falmouth Town and Helston Athletic winger Mattie Buchan has been signed by Tiverton Town.ย

Buchan spent most of last season at Southern League Division One South outfit Bideford where he finished as the club's top scorer as they finished 12th in the table.ย

He has now sealed a move to step three Tiverton following a successful trial period at the club.

Buchan was dual-signed for Helston Athletic but only made two appearances for the side who was then managed by Director of Football Steve Massey.

He did score a hat-trick in one of those matches though, as Helston triumphed to a 7-1 victory over Bridport on the opening day of what was Helston's first ever game in the Toolstation Western League.

Buchan makes the trip up to two-time FA Vase winners Tiverton who compete in the same division as Paul Wotton's Truro City.

Former Truro City duo Jamie Richards and Niall Thompson also made the move to Ladysmead ground although former Helston Athletic winger and February Toolstation Western league fans player of the month Orlando Anker has left Tiverton following the end of last season.ย

He has featured for South West Peninsula League West side Bodmin Town in pre-season.
