
A crew from Falmouth fire station were in attendance at a bonfire which spread to a fence and hedgerow in Mabe on the evening of Friday, July 29 Cornwall Fire and Rescue have confirmed.
The incident, which took place at 9:39pm in the evening, happened on Anton Hill and required firefighters to use two hose reels as well as some minor tools to put out the blaze.
A post in the Falmouth and Penryn Communities Facebook group warned people to avoid the area.
A full statement from the Cornwall Fire and Rescue service on Monday, August 1 said: "One appliance from Falmouth attended a call to a bonfire which had spread to a fence and hedgerow.
"Firefighters used two hose reels and small tools to extinguish and turn over the fire. This fire was accidental."
