A driver whose van went onto the wrong side of the road has admitted causing the death of a Falmouth man in a crash in East Cornwall.
Jaroslaw Bakula appeared via video link to plead guilty to causing the death of Steven West by dangerous driving on the A38 at Two Waters Foot at Liskeard, Cornwall, on July 13, 2020.
Bakula, aged 35, of Long Cross, Bristol, was driving a Mercedes Sprinter van at the time of the crash, in which the vehicle hit a Ford Mondeo car which was travelling on the correct side of the road in the opposite direction.
Bakula was bailed by Truro Crown Court and will be sentenced next month.
Judge Robert Linford imposed an interim driving ban on Bakula and warned him he faces going to jail when he is sentenced.
Father-of-two Mr West, aged 62, originally from St Breward, was living in Falmouth at the time of his death.
A previous court hearing before magistrates in Truro heard that Bakula was a Polish national who is currently living and residing in the UK, and had no previous convictions.
