The family of 19-year-old Alfie Beard have paid tribute to him after he was killed in a collision near Porthleven on Tuesday 2 August.

Emergency services were called at 10.35pm following the collision that involved a silver Mini Cooper on the A394.

"The driver, 19-year-old Alfie Beard from Helston, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road was closed overnight for officers to carry out a specialist examination of the scene and reopened around 9am on Wednesday, August 3.

Alfie's family paid the following tribute: "Alfie Beard ~03.03.2003 - 02.08.2022~

"We are distraught to announce the passing of our precious boy. He was thoughtful, loving, generous, talented and determined, all in one - a truly amazing person.

"He was loved by many and adored so very much by us. We will hold you forever in our hearts and minds. Fly high sweet boy, until we meet again.

"Please allow us time to process our loss because we are all broken."

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Emergency services were called at 10.35pm to the A394 to reports of a collision involving a silver Mini Cooper.

"Mr Beard was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended alongside the fire and ambulance services.

"The road was closed overnight for officers to carry out a specialist examination of the scene.

"Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for witnesses to contact them.

"They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam of the incident.
