People in Penryn have lost their water supply or are experiencing low pressure after a water main was damaged by workmen and burst.

The incident happened on the junction of Commercial Road with the Penryn turn opposite Exchequer Quay.

Falmouth Packet:

South West Water said customers in TR10 & TR11 Penryn may be experiencing lower pressure or loss of supply and an engineer is on the way to investigate. "Thank you for your patience & apologies for any inconvenience," they said.

Eyewitness Fiona Campbell-Howes said there had been a massive water leak on Commercial Road but SouthWest Water said it would take three hours for someone to get there. She 

The leak caused some problems for traffic ad is causing delays at the traffic lights.

South West Water issued a statement to customers: "A third party has caused damage to our network which may cause some of our customers in Penryn TR10 and TR11 to experience low water pressure than usual or a loss of supply while we undertake emergency repairs.

Falmouth Packet:

"Our team are on site working to repair the burst and we will provide an update as soon we can and would like to thank you for your patience during this time and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
