A sea of pink flowed through Falmouth town centre last night for the return of Pink Wig Night.
After an enforced two-year absence due to the pandemic, the Pink Wig crew were back in Falmouth just in time for their tenth year.
The event has become the traditional first night of Falmouth Week and features a mass walk through the town.
This year was one of the biggest yet, with more than 1,000 women dressed in pink parading from The Greenbank Hotel to the Church Street Car Park, led by Betty Stogs and Falmouth Marine Band.

It began in 2009 when a group of friends decided to show their support to founder Sally Hicks-Wood at the beginning of her cancer treatment, by walking through town wearing a pink wig.
Since then it has grown beyond all recognition and has raised more than £110,000 for breast cancer charities, including the Breast Care Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro and Breast Cancer Now.

Last night, to celebrate their tenth anniversary event, the team went back to their roots, by returning to The Greenbank Hotel for the pre-parade party.
Emma Kent, chairperson, said: “We were thrilled to have been approached by The Greenbank who wanted to get us back on board, supporting and partnering with Pink Wig.

"Our party night is a celebration of ladies supporting each other, having fun and most importantly raising money for our two chosen charities, Cornwall Breast Care Team and Breast Cancer Now.
"The more that local businesses support us, the more money we raise, benefitting our charities, leading hopefully to an eradication of this dreadful disease."
A percentage of all drinks and food sold at The Greenbank on Friday evening was also donated to Pink Wig.

At the end of the parade an evening of entertainment took place in the Falmouth Week marquee on the Church Street Car Park.
The team said it was extremely grateful to DJ Nate Valentino, The Strutts, Embrace Dance Fitness, Tim Vigus of South West Bars and all the sponsors who continued to support the event year on year.
Writing on the Pink Wig Events Facebook page they said: "Wow what an incredible night. Firstly we would like to thank our incredibly hard working team of volunteers. The gladiators behind the bar, our raffle team, the girls who help to get you all banded, and our other halves who help at the event every year, without these guys it would not be possible.
