There will be no midweek games for either Helston Athletic or Falmouth Town this week after both sides progressed to the preliminary round of the FA Cup.

In the opening round of this year's FA Cup, they both landed their first wins of the season as Helston defeated Street 2-1 on the road with goals coming from Rubin Wilson and Rikki Shepherd.

Town meanwhile came from behind to defeat Saltash United with James Swan and Alex Wharton hitting the back of the net in front of over 400 fans at Bickland Park.

The duo had both been due to return to league action tomorrow (Tuesday, August 9) however their matches have been postponed as their opponents both picked up draws in the FA Cup on Saturday resulting in a replay.

Helston were due for a home tie against Millbrook at Kellaway Park but this has been put back due to Millbrook's 1-1 draw with Torpoint Athletic in the cup on the weekend.

Falmouth were scheduled to make the trip to Trungle Parc to play Mousehole for the evening kick off match but that too has been rescheduled as the Greens could only manage a 1-1 draw at Barnstaple on the weekend resulting in a replay.

A date for when the teams will play these matches has yet to be published.

Following their successes the duo will meet in the next round of the FA Cup on Saturday, August 20.

Helston's next match is at home to Wellington on Saturday, August 13. Falmouth host Clevedon Town at Bickland on the same date.
