It is now being reported that the road is clear.

Traffic is being diverted through Stithians this morning after a collision involving four vehicles on the Falmouth to Helston road. 

The road is partially blocked with the emergency services including fire and police in attendance.

The accident happened at around 8.30am with traffic reportedly backed up and traffic heavy through Stithians reported.

The actual collision site is reported between Rame Cross and Longdowns, not far past the turn-off to Nick Ferris Skip Hire from the Helston direction. 

Traffic is reported as queuing back from Rame Cross almost to the recycling centre.

One eyewitness told the Packet: "A member the back roads are really heavy with traffic with large lorries trying to find their way around the narrow lanes. It's all a bit of a nightmare."

Inrix traffic service reports: "A394 Longdowns, Penryn. Road partially blocked and queueing traffic due to accident, four cars involved. Police directing traffic."

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called by the ambulance service with a report of a collision involving four vehicles at Herniss, Penryn, at around 8.40am.

"Fire service also called to the scene. The road is blocked and long tailbacks are being reported in the area.

"The extent of any injuries is not currently known."
