A PLEA had gone out for people are being urged to report crime and anti-social behaviour at Upton Slip in Falmouth in a bid to get control of the situation.

Falmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team, Cornwall Council and Falmouth Harbour have been working on problems occurring frequently on the slip for many months following complaints by people living nearby.

Fights have been recorded taking place on the slip in the nearby car park and appear to relate to people living in boats the inner harbour adjacent to Church Street car park, according to a recent town council meeting. 

The Packet has been sent videos of fights taking place on the Upton Slip steps and in the car park.

In a statement issued this week the groups involved encourage people to report any crime or anti-social behaviour when and where they see it.

“Falmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team, Cornwall Council and Falmouth Harbour have been working closely in response to the issues of crime and anti-social behaviour occurring on Upton Slip to provide a long-term solution which prevents such issues occurring in the future," said the statement.

"A targeted multi-agency approach is ongoing to proactively disrupt individuals causing issues, and we are meeting to share information and intelligence regularly to achieve our shared objective of tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in our community.

"To allow us to take further action, we are renewing our plea to residents for information.

"If you witness a crime or anti-social behaviour please report it either via 999 if the crime is taking place there and then, or via email to 101@dc.police.uk with as much detail as possible including times, dates and descriptions of people involved. Your report will make it back to the local team and will help us take action.”
