As I'm sure we're all aware, down here in the Duchy, we're currently slap bang in the middle of a housing crisis.

So, imagine my surprise when I learnt that there was a scheme in place that was actually prioritising housing people from London in Cornwall over the bleddy Cornish themselves!

Apparently, this scheme originates from the sixties and looks to free up housing in the capital by kicking out the over 55s and re-locating them in properties in places such as Illogan and Perranporth.

Now, I'm sorry, but when there are young families here in Cornwall who are waiting years to find themselves a place to live, and others who just can't afford to at all, the idea that some folk from up country are being prioritised and getting 'seaside and country homes' is absolute madness!

I guess 'Levelling Up' Cornwall meant stuffing it full of Londoners and forcing the Cornish elsewhere...
