A brewery in Cornwall has recently joined a green initiative that represents business who want to work together to create a cleaner Cornwall.

Sharp's Brewery, based in Rock, joins a number of other businesses, community groups, volunteers and Cornwall Council in becoming a Clean Cornwall Change-Maker with the ambition to make Cornwall the cleanest region in the country.

The brewery aims to support through attending the cleaning events, and through financial donations to the scheme.

The existing Change-Makers regularly come together to run beach cleans and other important events, such as Clean Cornwall Week which effectively coordinates litter picks throughout the region for a week. The Change-Makers scheme began on the Wednesday, June 8 2022 and has since worked with over 4,000 volunteers who have managed to remove over 3,000 bags of rubbish from the Cornish coastline and countryside.

Naomi Gorvin, Clean Cornwall Project Lead, said:“We are really excited to welcome Sharp’s Brewery onboard and look forward to working together to keep Cornwall litter free and safeguard our environment. Without the support of businesses in Cornwall we wouldn’t be able to continue the valuable work that we do.”

Change-Makers endeavours to encourage local businesses and organisations to form partnerships with Clean Cornwall to ensure that the valuable work, tackling the issue of litter and waste and protecting our beautiful county so that the environment can continue to be healthy well into the future. This is an excellent opportunity for organisations to show their support and make essential contributions towards efforts to keep Cornwall clean.
