Well, that's it, Boardmasters Festival 2022 came to a close on Sunday with final headliners Kings of Leon making their debut appearance at the festival.

Taking place over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Cornwall's biggest event was saturated in sunshine with an estimated 50,000 people in attendance.

George Ezra took to the main stage for Friday’s headline set and drew the biggest audience of the day performing a setlist packed full of crowd pleasers and his most popular hits, including ‘Green Green Grass’, ‘Paradise’, ‘Shotgun’, ‘Hold My Girl’ and ‘Budapest’, with festival goers singing along throughout the entire set.

Damian "Jr Gong" Marley, youngest son of the legendary Bob Marley, delivered nothing short of a reggae masterclass when he took to the stage at just gone half seven in the evening.

With hits including 'Welcome To Jam Rock' as well as several tributes to his late father such as 'Is This Love' and 'Get Up, Stand Up,' Marley put on a sensational performance that had the crowd going all the way through.

Friday’s Land of Saints headliners IDLES cemented themselves as crowd-surfing, head banging, rock royalty with a ferocious sonic assault of a set.

The post-punk act built up the crowd by opening with the brooding behemoth of a record 'Colossus' before diving straight into a set mixed with older material and newer songs including 'Mr Motivator', 'Grounds', 'Divide and Conquer', '1049 Gotho' and their very own feminist anthem 'Mother.'

Saturday was another absolute scorcher with the evening rounded off with a live DJ set from Grammy-nominated duo Disclosure.

Festival goers at the main stage were treated to a lively set, packed with club bangers and electrifying production.

Disclosure delivered what has been described as the 'new horizons of house music' and kept the crowd dancing into the early hours.

The final day of the festival saw The Wombats and Tom Grennan take to the stage before headliners and rock-royalty, Kings of Leon, deliver what organisers described as 'one of the greatest Boardmasters sets ever.'

The Wombats performed their trademark indie hits to a crowd of loyal, if not slightly older now fans, and songs such as 'Moving to New York' and 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' were met with warm welcome reception.

Tom Grennan had hyped the crowd up before hand with his 'cheeky chappy' personality and music, although his attempt to contact popular Youtuber, KSI, with whom he has a new single, didn't quite work out.

Finally, it was the turn of Nashville rock and roll four-piece headliners Kings of Leon, who delivered an absolutely unforgettable set of classics including 'Molly's Chambers', 'Closer', 'Revelry', and stand out crowd-pleasers 'Use Somebody' and 'Sex on Fire.'

Monday sees all camping festival goers heading home and the post-event clean up operation, described as 'a robust and thorough process' by organisers, will begin on Tuesday.
