Hall for Cornwall, Truro has unveiled 17 shows for 2023, which will add to a lineup of comedy, music, dance, and drama for audiences across Cornwall.

Fisherman's Friends - The Musical will be the first to top the bill. The record-breaking show about a group of Cornish fishermen is said to be 'special' for Hall for Cornwall. It was the first performance to take place last October following the Truro venue's three-year transformation, and the first co-creation by the Hall's Cornwall Playhouse Productions company.

Julien Boast, CEO and Creative Director at Hall for Cornwall said: “To have Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical back at Hall for Cornwall once again is a real treat, particularly because it was on stage at such an important moment for us last year and was our own Cornwall Playhouse production. It’s just one of the many top performances we’ve got lined up and we’re thrilled to be able to offer such a wide variety of entertainment, with tickets starting from £15.

“We want locals and visitors to come and see what they love but also to try out new shows, musicals, theatre, and more. We’re also reminding audiences that our fantastic autumn and winter season is about the kick-off with the smash hit musical SIX, and we’re really looking forward to our Christmas Show adventure, Treasure Island, starring Edward Rowe.”

Other highlights from Hall for Cornwall's 2023 programme include:

  • The Ocean at the End of the Lane - a new National Theatre production of Neil Gaiman's graphic novel. This thrilling adventure of fantasy, myth, and friendship takes the audience on a journey to a forgotten childhood. Aimed at audiences ages 12-plus, the show comes to Cornwall from the West End and has been described as 'Theatre at its gob-smacking best' by the Daily Telegraph.
  • The Mousetrap 70th Anniversary Tour - is a West End production based on the famous murder mystery by writer Agatha Christie.
  • The Lavender Hill Mob - Starring comic actors Miles Jupp and Justin Edwards, the show is a world premiere adaptation and a brand new stage play of the classic Ealing Comedy.
