Police are investigating an incident in Truro that saw a man seriously injured after reportedly being pushed from a footbridge.

Devon and Cornwall Police are currently looking in to the offence which took place on July 1 2022 on Old Bridge Street in Truro.

Police confirmed to The Packet that a man was left seriously injured after the incident

Two suspects, reported by police to be a 41-year-old man from Newquay and a 29-year-old man from Falmouth, were arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and have since been bailed.

The area in which the offence took place connects the Bridge Street carpark to a number of bars and Nightclubs in central Truro, not far from Truro Cathedral.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are investigating an incident of GBH which happened on Old Bridge Street on Friday 1 July whereby a man was left seriously injured.

"A 41-year-old man from Newquay and a 29-year-old man from Falmouth were arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and have been bailed until October 5."

The investigation comes two months after Devon and Cornwall Police released data on the number and kind of crimes taking place in Truro throughout June 2022.

The most popular being the Royal Cornwall Hospital and Huthnance Close with 10 criminal incidents each.

In joint second place were Sainsbury's Petrol Station, Lemon Quay, and Truro Bus Station with six criminal incidents each.

Finally, the area with the third most instances of criminal offences during June was Higher Besore Road with five criminal incidents.
