A passenger in a car which was involved in a collision with two buses in Truro has appeared in court charged with drug offences.

William Twist, aged 20, of Kergilliack Close, Falmouth, appeared at Truro Magistrates' Court today charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, possession of criminal property and possession of a bladed weapon in a public place.

Twist was arrested on Tuesday, September 20 following a collision on the Trafalgar Roundabout, Truro involving a car he was a passenger in and two buses.

The prosecution said Twist was left unconscious in the collision and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

Twist, who appeared in custody, made no pleas to all the charges.

An application for bail to the magistrates was refused.

Twist was remanded in custody until October 25, 2022.

According to Devon and Cornwall Police, the vehicle was involved in a collision with two buses and a second man has been charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving whilst disqualified.

Jake Pearce, aged 22, of No Fixed Abode, Helston has been charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving whilst disqualified and is expected to also appear in court today.
