Lifeguard cover at an array of beaches across the county is set to come to an end after Sunday, September 25.

The Packet previously reported that lifeguard cover would end on 12 beaches in Cornwall earlier this month.

Now cover will cease at 48 more beaches for the Autumn and Winter months, not typical seasons for lifeguard cover.

As of Monday, the following beaches will have no lifeguard cover:

  • Mexico Towans
  • Perran Sands
  • Perranporth* (DC)
  • Poldhu Cove
  • Polzeath*
  • Porth
  • Porthcothan
  • Porthcurno
  • Porthmeor
  • Porthminster
  • Porthtowan*
  • Portreath
  • Praa Sands
  • Sandymouth
  • Seaton
  • Sennen* (DC)
  • Sharrow
  • St Agnes

Beaches above which have an asterisk next to their title will have late season cover on weekends in October. These beaches, which tend to be among the most popular for ocean-goers, will either have weekend cover, or daily cover until after the October half term week (October 22-29). Those which have daily lifeguard cover have a DC in brackets next to their title
