Police have given a sad update over an incident that led to the main road to The Lizard being blocked this morning.
Emergency services are at the scene of the incident, which has taken place close to Parkdean Resorts' Lizard Point Holiday Park near Mullion.
It was initially thought that a car had crashed, but police have now said that sadly it appeared the driver had suffered a medical incident at the wheel, and had died.
A Force Incident Manager for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "It was reported as a single vehicle accident. However, it seems like sadly it's a medical incident at the wheel.
"The driver has been pronounced deceased and next of kin are present."
Traffic was diverted through Mullion, although reports locally are that the road has reopened but emergency services remain at the scene.
Traffic monitoring system INRIX was reporting earlier: "A3083 both ways closed, due to accident between Friar's Lane and B3296 Meaver Road."
