Police in Cornwall are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision left a man with life-changing injuries.

The collision occurred at St Erth on Saturday, September 24 near The Smugglers Inn, Calais Road at around 12:15pm.

Two vehicles were involved in the RTC, a Lexmoto scooter and a grey Audi A1 car, with a 25-year-old local man airlifted to hospital with life-changing injuries.

The road was closed in both directions while the scene was examined by police and reopened at around 3.25pm.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police investigating a road traffic collision at St Erth, Cornwall, on Saturday 24 September, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a Lexmoto scooter and a grey Audi A1 car near The Smugglers Inn, Calais Road, St Erth, at around 12.15pm.

"The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old local man, sustained life changing injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

"The road was closed in both directions while the scene was examined and reopened at around 3.25pm.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
