An English Heritage attraction in Cornwall will provide plenty of spooky entertainment involving a popular cartoon character this half term.

From today (Saturday, October 22) to next Sunday, October 30 Pendennis Castle will host a brand-new Beano-themed Halloween Quest throughout the castle grounds. Dennis, Gnasher, and friends need help to solve creepy clues on the fun family quest then meet the castle’s storytellers to hear all the tales of the strange and supernatural.

Fermont and Fiddler - also known as the monster meddlers - will teach guests how to apprehend demons, werewolves, and vampires.

There will be spooky stories for all the family and they can even join the Fantasm Apparition Research and Takedown ghost hunters (who go by a giggle-making acronym for short) as they lead a scien-terrific quest around the ground to find and take down the ghoustly ghouls they find.

Ella Harrison, events manager, said: “What better way to get into the spooky Halloween spirit than with a visit to a historical site?

"We’re also very excited to be working with Beano for the first time ever - Halloween is full of mischief and who is more mischievous than Dennis?

"We can’t wait for families to join us and enjoy the quest we created for them in partnership with Beano.”

Vanessa Andreis, franchise planning and partnerships director at Beano, said: “We’re incredibly excited to partner with English Heritage for the first time ever and for families to enjoy our spooky Beano Halloween Quests up and down the country this half-term.
