The Eden Project in Cornwall is pulling out all the stops to create a magical festive experience full of music and light across the site of the world-famous Biomes this Christmas.

On selected dates between Friday, December 2 and Friday, December 30 the site will be open until 8pm and visitors will be treated to a display of twinkling lights.

The festive atmosphere weaves around the outdoor gardens with light displays and the return of Eden’s Tunnel of Lights leading to the Biomes.

The Mediterranean Biome will be bathed in a glow of lights while live musicians deliver a medley of orchestral music, featuring seasonal favourites with a modern twist.

Meanwhile, in the Rainforest, hundreds of suspended fiberoptic lights, glistening orbs, lasers and sparkling lights will transport visitors to an enchanted forest world.

Visitors can also enjoy a 40-minute storytelling experience with Father Christmas and the ever-popular ice skating, both of which must be booked in advance.

Eden Live’s production manager Tamsyn Lewis said: “We can’t wait to unveil this year’s Christmas experience at Eden. It’s always a special time of year when we get to spread some joy and create an experience unlike anything normally seen at Eden.

“Of course, no Christmas experience would be complete without a visit to Father Christmas. This year, our pre-bookable 40-minute sessions will see Father Christmas and his elves share a story about Elfie the elf, whose first season in the job sees him overcoming his nerves and saving Christmas.

“Each child will get a chance to meet Father Christmas personally to share those all-important Christmas wishes before taking home a fun-filled story and activity book and chocolates.”

Other highlights include Eden’s ice rink, open right the way through until February 19, 2023 offering general 40-minute slots, lessons and family sessions.

For residents of Devon and Cornwall, Eden’s Winter Locals’ Pass launched on November 1, providing more than two-thirds off standard admission prices and granting access up to the end of March 2023.

The Eden Project Christmas experience will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from December 2, daily from December 15 until December 23, and then from December 27 to 30.
